Who We Are

Built for the
operators who built the West.

Diamond Fork Capital is a private equity firm focused exclusively on lower-middle-market acquisitions across the Mountain West. We target founder-owned businesses in industries that are essential, durable, and often overlooked by larger institutional capital.

Named for the canyon carved over millennia in the Wasatch Range, we believe enduring value is built through focused, patient, hands-on ownership — not financial engineering.

We bring operator-level conviction, SBA-structured financing, and a deep understanding of how these businesses actually run.

01
Sector Specialization
We only pursue industries we understand deeply — no generalist mandate, no distractions.
02
Operator Partnership
We preserve management, honor legacy, and build alongside existing teams.
03
SBA-Structured Deals
Efficient capital structures designed for lower-middle-market realities.

Target Sectors

Industries that
can't be outsourced.

We focus on businesses that provide essential, non-discretionary services to communities across the Mountain West. These industries share common traits: recurring revenue, high switching costs, and durable demand driven by geography and regulation — not market cycles.

Specialized Construction Subcontractors
Trade contractors providing critical services to residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects. These businesses operate on recurring subcontract relationships with general contractors and developers.
Electrical Plumbing HVAC Concrete Framing Excavation
Private Septic & Wastewater Services
Essential wastewater management for rural and suburban communities off municipal systems. Driven by regulatory mandates, population growth into the Intermountain West, and recurring maintenance contracts.
Installation Pumping Inspection Aerobic Systems Maintenance
Propane Distribution
Last-mile energy delivery for rural homes, farms, and commercial customers without access to natural gas infrastructure. Characterized by captive customer bases, regulated pricing, and high recurring revenue visibility.
Residential Agricultural Commercial Route-Based Tank Rental
Geographic Focus

The Mountain West is our home market.

We concentrate exclusively on the Intermountain West — a region experiencing sustained population growth, infrastructure buildout, and fragmented ownership in essential services. This focus creates informational advantages, faster deal sourcing, and deeper operator relationships that generalist funds cannot replicate.

Rural and exurban communities across these states are underserved by institutional capital, creating a consistent pipeline of quality businesses available at reasonable valuations.

Our Process

How we
find, close, and build.

01
Proprietary Sourcing
We build direct relationships with business owners, trade associations, and local networks across the Mountain West — not through brokers. Most of our deals are not on the market when we find them.
02
Rapid Diligence
Our sector focus means faster, sharper diligence. We know the KPIs that matter in septic, propane, and subcontractor businesses. We move from LOI to close in 60–90 days.
03
Structured Financing
We utilize SBA 7(a) financing with seller notes and equity co-investment to create efficient deal structures — preserving upside for sellers and investors alike.
04
Operational Value Creation
Post-acquisition, we implement operational systems, organic growth initiatives, and adjacent bolt-on acquisitions to build durable, scalable platforms over a 5–7 year hold.
Investment Criteria

What we look for in a business.

We target founder-owned businesses with strong fundamentals and untapped operational potential. Our acquisitions are structured for alignment — sellers participate in our success through seller notes and rollover equity.

Essential Services
We target non-discretionary service businesses with recurring revenue streams and high customer retention — industries that thrive regardless of economic cycles.
Succession-Ready Owners
We partner with retiring founders, family businesses at a transition point, or owners seeking liquidity — people who've built something real and want to see it continue.
Seller Partnership
Sellers participate through seller notes (typically 10–20% of enterprise value) and optional rollover equity, creating alignment through the hold period.
